Police Blotter | Facebook helps Nab Theft Suspect, iPhone Thief Tracked and Caught, Front Porch Package Theft Suspect Interrupted

spdHere are a few of the recent calls the Snoqualmie Police Department responded to in North Bend and Snoqualmie during the past couple of weeks.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES | KING ST & SILVA AVE, Snoqualmie

On November 29th at 3:20PM a caller reported two females carrying backpacks entering a vacant house. An officer responded and checked all houses in the vicinity, but was unable to locate the women.


THEFT IN-PROGRESS | MT. SI SENIOR CENTER, North Bend

On November 29th at 5:45PM a caller reported witnessing a male taking clothing donations from the doorway of the senior center and leaving in a black Toyota Celica.  An officer responded but was unable to locate the subject.


DANGEROUS ANIMAL | NORTH BEND SAFEWAY

On November 29th around 6:45PM a caller reported a possible dog attack. Upon further discussion, it appeared the woman he thought was being attacked was in fact walking four dogs. The caller went to grab a hammer to help the woman, but when he came back she was walking away with the dogs and everything seemed fine.


ABANDONED VEHICLE |  MAPLE STREET, Snoqualmie

On November 30th at 11AM an abandoned 40ft-long boat on a trailer with three axles and bad tires was discovered.  At the time of the report, a tow company was unable to be found to remove the boat.


LOST PROPERTY  | NORTH BEND LIBRARY

On November 30th at 12:20PM a caller reported seeing a bike hitch/child carrier that had been reported stolen by a resident on Facebook. An officer responded and found a subject in possession of a stolen bike kid trailer.  The subject was arrested for possession of stolen property and drug paraphernalia – then cited and released.


DISTURBANCE |  MT. SI BLVD CHEVRON STATION

On November 30th around 7PM someone called the police – screaming and yelling were heard in the background of the call, with a customer seemingly upset about a transaction. The call was disconnected. An officer responded and found those involved behind the location. There was no crime.  A customer was just upset about their Safeway fuel discount points.


DISTURBANCE  |  BETTER PROPERTIES, North Bend

On December 1st at 11:20AM a caller reported an unwanted guests at the location whom management was trying to evict from a residence. An officer responded and trespassed a male and female from the property after a dispute with the management over their daughter’s rent.


THEFT REPORT | NORTH BEND OUTLET MALL

On December 1st around 1PM it was reported that some of the children’s rides at the outlet mall were vandalized and money stolen from the rides.  An officer responded – appeared the locks were cut off and coins taken, with the loss unknown.


ALARM |  SE 12th ST, North Bend

On December 1st at 1:20PM an officer responded to residential alarm.  The home was checked and determined it was secure, with a cat roaming inside that might have triggered the alarm.


SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES |  NORTH BEND WAY

On December 1st around 3PM an officer responded to a residence after the department received several calls from the location and after attempting to call the number back multiple times and being hung up after a child answered. The officer made contact with the resident – a lady and a cat.  No children were on site.


SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES |  Salmon Berry CT & Carmichael St, Snoqualmie

On December 1st at 2PM a caller reported a woman wearing a utility vest with reflectors was going through yards near their location.  The caller was concerned due to break-ins in the area.  An officer responded and made contact with the woman who was with an Xfinity Van and clearly a utility worker.


ALARM |  HALLAMORE HOMES, North Bend Way

On December 1st around 9PM an officer responded to a silent intrusion alarm when the side entry zone was tripped. The officer determined the wind had caused the door to trip the alarm.


ANIMAL PROBLEM |  Jeanne Hansen Park, Snoqualmie

On December 2nd at 8AM a Parks Dept. employee requested an officer speak to a subject who was continually playing ball with off leash dog on the fields.  The caller stated the man refuses to have his two dogs on leashes.


ACCIDENT/NON-INJURY | SNOQUALMIE PKWY & DOUGLAS AVE SE

On December 2nd around 8AM a caller reported that a vehicle had spun off the road and into the grass and wasn’t sure if anyone was hurt.  An officer responded  and found the spot where the car had gone into the ditch, but the car had already been moved.


SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES | SILVA AVE & CEDAR ST, Snoqualmie

On December 2nd at 5:15PM a caller reported that a yellow van was going up and down the street with a passenger jumping out and trying to open car doors. An officer responded but was unable to locate the van.


AREA CHECK | NORTH BEND WAY & SE 106TH PL

On December 2nd at 11:15PM the King County Sheriff’s Officer informed SPD that an unknown subject was walking in the roadway.  A second caller also reported the subject near Les Schwab.  An officer responded and found the extremely intoxicated subject in the roadway. The officer gave the man a courtesy ride to his home.


DISPUTE | NORTH BEND SAFEWAYT

On December 3rd at 2:3oPM a caller reported that female had door dinged their vehicle in the parking lot, would not give the caller any info and then pushed him. He told police the door dinger entered the grocery store. There was then a verbal altercation between the two parties in the parking lot.  An officer responded and separated the two and stated it was a civil matter.


THEFT REPORT |  MICHAEL’S DRY CLEANING, North Bend

On December 3rd around 4PM a caller reported that their tip jar was stolen, with the male suspect fleeing in a dark-colored four-door vehicle.


TRESPASSING IN-PROGRESS |  MT SI LUTHERN CHURCH

On December 3rd around 8:30PM, an overnight shelter staff member requested police trespass a guest.  An officer arrived and issued the trespass notice and escorted the subject off the property for being rude to shelter staff.


VEHICLE PROWL REPORT |  NORTH BEND QFC

On December 4th at 3:15AM a caller reported their backpack was stolen from their pickup truck. The backpack contained an iPad, cell phone, keys and glasses.  An officer responded. The surveillance footage was checked, but had poor quality due to rain on the lens and didn’t pick up anyone getting out of the vehicle that was suspected in connection to the theft.


THEFT REPORT |  SNOQUALMIE VALLEY RECORD 

On December 4th at 10:30AM it was reported that the newspaper rack/box was taken from the location – probably prior to Thanksgiving.


SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES | SE VAUGHAN ST, Snoqualmie

On December 4th at 2:45PM a caller reported a man wearing latex gloves was tampering with the neighborhood’s locked mailbox. It was determined it was actually a substitute mail carrier – confirmed with USPS manager.


SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES | FAIRWAY AVE SE, Snoqualmie

On December 4th at 4:30PM a caller reported that they had interrupted a man had attempting to steal a package off the front porch.  The subject was described as a thin, white male in his 20’s with a black hoody and gray pants who fled in a newer white Nissan hatchback vehicle.


THEFT REPORT | CALVARY CHAPEL NORTH BEND

 On December 4th at 11:30AM a caller reported the theft of an iPhone from the chapel and then reported the suspect then was located in downtown Snoqualmie.  An officer responded and arrested and booked the subject for the theft.


RECKLESS DRIVING | SE NORTHBEND WAY

On December 5th around 9:15AM a caller reported a reckless driver, possibly a DUI, who was swerving and almost caused an accident. The caller followed the driver all the way to his residence and witnessed all the bad driving. Caller reported the driver did hit a vehicle.


SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES | FRONTIER AVE & ELM ST, Snoqualmie

On December 5th around 12:45PM a caller reported that about 20-30 subjects were digging up trees and putting them into vehicles.  It was determined King County was doing a vegetation project and the city was aware.
