A Snoqualmie Holiday Tradition this Weekend: Santa Lights the Trees, Outdoor Skating, Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides, Holiday Music

Snoqualmie’s kickoff to the Holiday Season happens this Saturday, December 12, 2015 on the streets of quaint, historic Snoqualmie…. and it should be fun!

The Winter Magic Outdoor Ice Rinks opens for its sophomore season at 4:30PM at Railroad Park (corner of King Street and Railroad Ave). This year the city invested is a larger synthetic rink to improve skating the experience for community members of all ages. See the full schedule and pricing for the ice rink HERE.

Downtown merchants will also be getting into the spirit, hosting a Holiday Open House from 4PM-8PM where you can visit shops and restaurants, enjoy complimentary treats and listen to live music.

Then comes the annual Holiday Tree Lighting event, which starts at 6:30PM.  Santa Claus will light up the trees at Railroad Park, where, rumor has it, the Parks Department was feeling even more like Clark Griswold this year!

There will be holiday music, horse-drawn carriage rides, carolers, cookies and hot chocolate! Oh, concession stands, too, for hungry folks.

Carriage rides start at Railroad Park and the corner of Falls Ave and River Street by Carmichael’s True Value, which is sponsoring the rides with Cascade Team Real Estate this year.

In summary – Festive Holiday Fun, this Saturday, December 12th in downtown Snoqualmie –  starting at 4PM with a holiday open house. The Winter Magic Outdoor Ice Rink opens at 4:30PM. Santa turns on the tree lights promptly at 6:30PM.

It’s a great chance to visit newly-remodeled downtown Snoqualmie, celebrate the season and check out what’s new – including two new restaurants, a new butcher and a new gift shop.
