A single-vehicle crash along Interstate 90 early Tuesday morning left a 24-year-old North Bend man injured after his pickup left the roadway and struck a tree, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP).
The crash occurred at approximately 4:25 a.m. on April 22 on eastbound I-90 just west of State Route 18. Troopers said the driver was traveling in an unknown lane when the 2024 gray Toyota Tacoma struck a tree on the left shoulder and came to rest on its side, totaling the vehicle.
The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, was transported to Harborview Medical Center with injuries. No other vehicles were involved.
Authorities said drugs or alcohol were involved, and the driver faces a possible DUI charge. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
The roadway was blocked for approximately 20 minutes following the collision.
