20,000 Warrior Dash Runners and Spectators Expected to Create Snoqualmie Valley Weekend Traffic Headaches

Planning to drive around the valley this weekend?  Just need to make a quick trip to North Bend for groceries?  Better read this first And don’t forget, Thomas the Train is in town as well.

The City of North Bend is anticipating over 20,000 participants and spectators this weekend, July 21st – 22nd, for the world-renowned Warrior Dash event being held at Meadowbrook Farm, 1711 Boalch Ave in North Bend .  City officials are warning the large number of expected visitors could impact traffic through North Bend and other Snoqualmie Valley areas surrounding Meadowbrook Farm.  Significant congestion and delays could occur throughout the weekend.

Warrior Dash is a running series created by Red Frog Events in Chicago.  It’s an extreme 5-6K running race.  The course has at least 12 obstacles that include jumping over fire and crawling through mud with barbed wire hung overhead.  The dash is followed by a festival with live music, beer, food – to name a few.

If you see participants dressed in crazy costumes wandering local streets, they’re probably Warrior Dash runners.  Costumes are encouraged for the event.  If they are covered in mud, chances arethey finished the race!

North Bend’s Boalch Avenue will be closed from the south entrance of the par-3 Mt Si Golf Course, to just north of the driveway at the King County Sheriff Station from Friday, July 20th at 10:00AM through Sunday, July 22nd.  Residents can access the Mt Si Golf Course and King County Sheriff building/Boalch Ave businesses from Snoqualmie, via Park Street.

You can find information about the event by visiting the Warrior Dash website.
