1st Annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser To Benefit Mt Si Food Bank – Sunday, March 25th – Only 50 Bowls Left!

Many Snoqualmie Valley resident may not be aware of Mt Si Food Bank’s Empty Bowls Fundraiser happening this Sunday, March 25th, at the Si View Community Center in North Bend.  Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger, created by the Imagine Render Group.  The Mt Si Food Bank currently helps approximately 390 Snoqualmie Valley families. Each week they provide food to over 1,300 local residents, over 300 of whom are children.  They do great things for local families in need.

The 1st Annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser features handcrafted bowls, made and donated by Mount Si High School and and all three SVSD middle school art students.  Attendees purchase a $20 ticket and enjoy a simple meal of soup and bread.  When finished, they are invited to keep the bowls as a reminder of all the empty bowls around the world.  Local restaurants have generously donated  food for the fundraising event.

In addition to the meal, there is also a silent auction.  The fundraiser runs 4:00PM until 6:30PM.  The silent auction ends at 6PM.  There are a limited number of bowls so buy them soon if you are interested in attending.  As of March 19th only 50 bowls remain.  Tickets can be purchased at www.mtsifoodbank.org or at the food bank on Wednesdays from 9AM to 6:30PM.  Mt Si Food Bank is located at 122 East 3rd Street, next to the North Bend Library and Community Church.
