Weather Causes Construction Delay in North Bend; Road to re-open September 29th

The City of North Bend announced that due to recent rainy weather conditions, construction on North Bend Way from Bendigo Boulevard through Ballarat Avenue is expected to continue through Friday, September 29th.

The City said via a press release that the additional three-day closure is necessary to allow the contractor to complete the concrete pours in dry weather to ensure proper curing which will strengthen and enhance concrete in this high-traffic area.

Downtown businesses will remain open during construction. Residents and visitors are encouraged to continue supporting downtown businesses.

Signage to alternative parking locations are posted in the downtown area.   An alternative parking map, construction schedule, design layout, and project FAQ document can be found on the City of North Bend Public Works Department Current Projects Web Page at HERE.

Downtown Plaza Project construction is expected to be completed by the end of November 2017. The city says the project will create an attractive and safe downtown environment to shop, dine and gather. It will feature widened sidewalks, pedestrian amenities, and traffic-calming measures to improve safety and mobility for pedestrians, bicyclists, and vehicular traffic.
