Snoqualmie Ridge Big 4th of July Celebration Adds New Attractions

Time flies.  It’s hard to believe that Snoqualmie Ridge has existed for 15 years, but it has.  And for almost as long, the Snoqualmie Ridge 4th of July Celebration has been happening at Snoqualmie Community Park.

It’s the biggest (and seemingly growing each year) event the Snoqualmie Ridge Homeowner’s Association puts on, with almost every square inch of the large park occupied with fun activities and hundreds of families.

New this year! A few new teen attractions, including a ZIP LINE and a splash blast, kind of a dunk tank alternative where if the target is hit, the recipient gets hit with a pressurized spray of water.  Also, all the concessions are moving near the entrance to the YMCA to help with traffic flow, as the event is traditionally so crowded that it’s a bit difficult to navigate the multitudes of people.  Also, this year proceeds from concession sales will benefit the Mt. Si Food Bank.

As always, the event kicks off with a community parade, with Mayor Larson leading the way.  Kids are encouraged to decorate their bikes, tricycles, wagons, scooters, skateboards, etc. in red, white and blue and meet at Cascade View Elementary, 34816 SE Ridge Street, on July 4th at 10:15AM.  The parade starts at 10:30AM sharp and travels its way to Snoqualmie Community Park.

The 4th of July Celebration officially starts at 11AM and runs until 2PM. As always, there will be pony rides, a circus train, LOTS of inflatables, “Teen Alley” on the upper soccer field, face painting, glitter tattoos, kid crafts and free child ID’s – as well as lots of food and a live band.

Puget Sound Energy (PSE) will also be on hand distributing information about their Green Power Challenge for Snoqualmie. The Snoqualmie Valley Pet Food Bank will be managing the sponsors tent and giving away doggie treat bags – so the family pet isn’t left out of the celebration.
