Serious 4-car accident near I-90/SR 18 interchange leaves one critically injured

Around 4:30PM, January 2, 2019, emergency crews responded to a serious, four-car accident on westbound I-90 near the SR 18 interchange.

The accident – near milepost 26 – left a white sedan wedged between two other vehicles, with the back of the vehicle destroyed.

Firefighters from Eastside Fire & Rescue, Bellevue and Snoqualmie Fire Departments responded to the scene. One person was found unconscious and trapped in the severely damaged sedan. Hydraulic extrication tools were used to remove the driver, who was then transported to Haborview Medical Center.

According to Snoqualmie Fire Department, four people were transported to hospitals, with one reportedly in critical condition.

There is no word yet on the cause of the accident or the condition of those who were injured, but this area of I-90 often sees traffic congestion during peak commute hours.
