Police Blotter | Late night run-rap; just a yogurt mistake; shirtless and out of control; drunk and howlin’ at the wind

THEFT IN-PROGRESS |  NORTH BEND SAFEWAY

On January 24th around 5:30PM a juvenile male took liquor and when he noticed an employee was writing down his vehicle license plate number, ran back in and left the liquor in the store. The employee gave officers the plate number and stated that they wanted to press charges and have the male trespassed from the store.

DISPUTE |  TRUCK TOWN, North Bend

On January 25th a caller reported a customer for refusing to pay his minor truck repair bill. The manager attempted to pull the driver’s key from his rig which made the driver very angry. The manager and driver were in a ‘heated verbal argument only.’  The officer reported that the driver paid his bill upon SPD arrival. The officer advised the man that “he needs to pay bills or it is considered theft” and also advised the manager to stay calm and not take ‘unreasonable action.’

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES |  SE NORTH BEND WAY

On January 25th at 7:15PM a caller reported hearing a possible gunshot. The officer tried to make contact with the caller but couldn’t, but did talk to a neighbor who saw fireworks going off next door, including smoke and light from it.

THEFT IN-PROGRESS | NORTH BEND SAFEWAY

On January 25th around  9:45PM an employee reported a possible shoplifter, but the woman in question could not be charged since she paid for all items. She claimed she stuck yogurt in her purse because she ‘ran out of hands and forgot to get a basket.’  Store staff requested she be trespassed for one year.

911 PROBLEM | HANCOCK AVE SE, Snoqualmie 

On January 29th at 12:45AM a caller reported a shirtless, intoxicated male who was ‘out of control’ and attempting to rip parts off of the caller’s vehicle. The subject’s roommates hid from him inside of a vehicle while contacting police. Officers arrived and detained the subject. He was booked into King County Jail on multiple charges including malicious mischief, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES | SE SWENSON ST, Snoqualmie

On January 29th around 3AM a caller reported that a male – possibly a teenager – was walking up and down the street yelling on his phone at his dad. An officer responded and contact the subject who it turns out was taking a late night run and rapping to his music while running.

RECKLESS DRIVING | NORTH BEND WAY & 8TH ST

On February 1st at 2:30AM a fire truck reported they were following a reckless driver and was concerned the driver was impaired. An officer responded and performed a DUI investigation. It was determined the driver had been drinking but was not at DUI levels.

  • Regarding the “DISPUTE | TRUCK TOWN, North Bend”:
    If someone is not satisfied with his vehicle (or anything else) repair and refuses to pay the bill, “it is considered theft” ? Really?
    While stealing vehicle’s key in an attempt to not let the customer leave is considered “unreasonable action”?
    Do SPD officers know what they are doing?

    1. It would be like walking out of a store without paying for items. That is the problem with society today. Wow
