Try some beer, sample some history. The Northwest Railway Museum has launched a new program – and it could be the perfect thing for craft beer and history lovers.
The Rail and Ale Lecture includes a train ride to the Railway History Center, locally-brewed beverages from the Snoqualmie Brewery served on the deck of the Railway Education Center, a railway history-related lecture in the classroom, and a train excursion to Snoqualmie Falls.
The program is 2.5 hours long and begins with the 3PM train departure from Snoqualmie. Tickets are $35 per person, 21 and over.
This weekend’s lecture is entitled “Cast Upon the Rails: Japanese Americans in King County,” and is presented by Mayumi Tsutakawa, an independent writer and curator who has focused on Asian/Pacific American history.

As an alternative, there is also free admission available to “Cast Upon the Rails.” With free admission, there is no rail and no ale, but organizers say there will be an excellent presentation. The lecture begins at 4PM in the Railway Education Center classroom at 9312 Stone Quarry Road. The presentation will wrap up at approximately 4:45P<.
