North Bend brush fire investigated as arson; $10,000 reward offered

Eastside Fire & Rescue responded to a fire in the woods behind the Arrive Townhome Complex (formerly Rock Creek Townhomes) in North Bend Tuesday night, June 18, 2019.

According to the fire incident report, EF&R crews “engaged in suppression efforts on a 40 x 40 brush fire with old growth stumps burning” near 1550 Stone Creek Circle SW.

The main body of the fire was quickly suppressed, but “extensive overhaul” was required to ensure the fire was 100% contained.

The fire investigation was turned over to the King County Sheriff’s Office who are investigating it as arson.

KCSO Sgt. Ryan Abbott said arson signs have been posted in the area offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to those responsible. According to fire crews and other witnesses, approximately ten teenagers were seen leaving the area where the fire occurred.

  • I found out who one of the kids were that made the fire, he sent me a video of that night, it doesnt show his face but it does show the fire and i know his name.
