Letter | Re-elect Kathi Prewitt, brings critical experience, thoughtful deliberation to city council

Dear Editor,

I am writing to encourage the citizens of Snoqualmie to join me in re-electing Kathi Prewitt to the Snoqualmie City Council. Kathi is a long-standing, respected member of the community who approaches her role on the Council with integrity and forthrightness. I had the pleasure of serving with Kathi on the Council for nearly 10 years and found her to be an intelligent, well-informed and dedicated Councilmember. She is thoughtful in her deliberations and always has the best interests of the whole city in mind when making a decision.

Kathi’s substantial background in management and banking lends critical experience to the city. When Kathi arrived on the Council she was an integral part of the decisions which directed the city away from an unsustainable financial situation to a position of financial health. Her ongoing guidance has served to maintain that health to the present day. Kathi’s contributions on matters of law and policy are equally valuable. As a mark of trust in Kathi’s leadership qualities, her colleagues on the Council elected her Mayor Pro-tempore for several years in a row, helping to yield organized and efficient Council processes.

There are many difficult and sometimes controversial decisions that must be made as a Councilmember. Kathi welcomes community input in all decisions and she takes that input into consideration when casting her vote. She approaches decision-making with diligence, research and compassion. Kathi is known for questioning issues until she is satisfied that the information provided will result in the best possible judgement.

We are fortunate to have Kathi’s qualifications and experience guiding the policies, laws and finances of Snoqualmie. I encourage you to re-elect Kathi Prewitt so that she can continue her exemplary work on our behalf.

Sincerely,

Maria Henriksen
Former Snoqualmie City Councilmember
