Lessons from the Pizza Delivery Guy: Kindness really is that simple

Yesterday a Christmas card came in the mail. As I was opening it, I kept wondering who the return address belonged to.

It turns out it was from our pizza delivery guy from Uncle Si’s.

Side note: I used to wait tables for many years. As a ‘retired’ server, our family tends to tip on the nicer end of the spectrum. Why? Because I remember what a good tip feels like. I remember that it is hard to serve a large section – stay organized, get the order right, get the check delivered in a timely manner, always be nice even when you’re having a crappy day.

Back to the Christmas card. This man we barely know took the time to send us a hand written card to thank us for our generosity and to let us know that it helps.

It was such a nice gesture on his part. Just a card, but he didn’t have to do it.

So thank you to our pizza delivery guy for his small gesture of gratitude. It made my day.

Kindness can do that. It can pick up someone’s day, put a smile on their face.

It really is that simple.

So thank you for reading our stories. It means a lot and is appreciated. And thank you for our local advertisers’ support so we can continue writing stories for the community.  We are grateful.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays Snoqualmie Valley!
