I-90 Wrong Way Collision Claims One Life, Sends Two to Harborview

A male driver died at the scene of an early morning, two-vehicle collision, May 17, 2015, at Snoqualmie Pass, after possibly driving several miles before causing the serious accident that closed a section of I-90 for hours Sunday morning.

Washington State Patrol (WSP) stated the vehicle was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-90 around 4AM when it struck an SUV at mile post 53 near Hyak.

WSP stated via social media that there were reports the vehicle had entered I-90 going the wrong direction near mile post 38, just east of North Bend.

The male and female occupants of the vehicle struck by the wrong way vehicle were transported to Harborview Medical Center with injuries.

According to a WSP collision report, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved.
