Fire Crews kept busy Christmas Day, battle two large fires on Eastside

Local east King County firefighters were kept busy Christmas night, responding to two big fires in Carnation and North Bend.

According to Eastside Fire & Rescue (EF&R), crews responded to a fully involved garage fire on Mt. Si Road in east North Bend around 4PM.

Firefighters arrived and were forced to take a defensive stand due to the large fire involvement of the detached garage.

Snoqualmie and Bellevue fire fighters also responded to assist in battling the large blaze. No injuries were reported and a fire investigator was on scene Monday evening to determine the cause.

Then shortly before midnight, multiple agencies were called to another large fire, this time on NE 45th in Carnation. Fire crews experienced icy road conditions accessing the scene, but reported all occupants made it out of the home.

Fall City Fire, Snoqualmie Fire, Duvall Fire and Redmond Fire Departments all responded to the house fire. One firefighter experienced heat exhaustion, was evaluated and then was released to his department.

A 60-year old male was reportedly the only one home at the time of the fire. The cause was not yet reported, but the fire investigator was on scene during the early hours of December 26th.
