Feeling Stretched as a Caregiver? Mt. Si Senior Center offers new Class to help

Do you help take care of a loved one, spouse, or family member? If so, you are not alone. Over 43.5 million family caregivers in America provide a vast array of emotional, financial, nursing, social, homemaking and other services on a daily or an intermittent basis.

Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an educational series designed to provide you with the tools you need to take care of yourself. This program helps family caregivers reduce stress, improve self-confidence, communicate feelings better, balance their lives, increase their ability to make tough decisions and locate helpful resources. If you take better care of yourself, you will be better prepared to take good care of your loved one.

Classes consist of six sessions held once a week. Two experienced leaders conduct the series. Interactive lessons, discussions and brainstorming will help you take the “tools” you choose and put them into action for your life.

Classes will be held at Mt. Si Senior Center. Sessions are held Fridays from 2PM to 3:30PM beginning April 6 and ending May 18th.

The course is free, but the Center is asking participants to consider a donation of $25 to help defray the cost.

Class size is limited, and pre-registration is required. The deadline to register for the course is April 2nd.

For more information or to register, contact the Center’s Senior Advocate Britt Isbell by email at advocate@mtsiseniorcenter.org or by phone at 425-888-3434 extension 4. The deadline to register for the course is April 2.
