Carjacking leads to Serious Accident in North Bend, two arrested

Multiple residents reported a serious accident in North Bend on February 15, 2017 – one that closed North Bend Way near SE 140th for approximately an hour.

Wednesday evening, the City of Snoqualmie reported via press release stating that around 12:35PM, a vehicle was reported stolen in the 600 block of E. North Bend Way when “two adult females assaulted the vehicle owner and used pepper spray to gain control of the vehicle.”

A short time later, a Snoqualmie police officer spotted the vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop. The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed, going over an embankment, and later collided head-on with another vehicle near SE 140th ST and North Bend Way.

The driver and a passenger ran from the scene, but were apprehended by the police and a citizen passing by. The driver in the other car was transported to Overlake Hospital and was in stable condition.

The two suspects were arrested for vehicle theft, robbery, assault, eluding, and fleeing the scene of a vehicle accident. They were transported to the King County Jail.
