After ‘Sympathy Strike’ leads to North Bend garbage pickup disruptions, Republic Services back to full service

After a ‘sympathy strike’ led to a three-day garbage pickup disruption in North Bend, Republic Services said it was back to ‘full business’ on Monday, October 7th – covering all routes as scheduled.

On Thursday October 3rd, Republic said striking members of Teamsters Local 25 in Massachusetts arrived at its Washington facility in the early morning hours and set up a picket line, which local drivers honored.

Republic thanked customers for their understanding during last week’s temporary work stoppage for that ‘sympathy strike’ and apologized for any inconveniences it created.

Some North Bend residents have reported bears getting into containers that sat curbside over the weekend. You’re encouraged to bring in your cans and put them back out on your scheduled pick up day this week.
