King County says the CenturyLink network outage that affected emergency calls nationwide is being addressed. 9-1-1 calls are again getting through. There may still be intermittent issues, so the county says if a 9-1-1 call does not go through, to call one of the ten-digit numbers below or use a cell phone to Text-to-911.

King County will work with its partners to assess the impact of the 9-1-1 outage, identify issues, and determine what changes might be made to make the system more robust in the future. Additional information may be available from CenturyLink.
Residents are urged not to “test” the system. Although 9-1-1 calls may get through, please keep the lines open for people who need assistance from first responders. Do not call 9-1-1 unless you are having an emergency.

A nationwide CenturyLink outage that started Thursday, December 27, 2018 began affecting the King County 911 system (NORCOM) overnight.
If you called 911 this morning, you likely to got a busy signal. So the King County Sheriff’s Office, Snoqualmie PD and Fire and Eastside Fire & Rescue asked residents to call local dispatch lines directly until the outage is fixed.
Local Emergency Dispatch Numbers are:
- Snoqualmie PD: 425-888-3333 or 425-837-3200
- Snoqualmie Fire, Eastside Fire & Rescue and EMS: 425-577-5656
- King County Sheriff’s Office: 206-296-3311
According to KOMO News, CenturyLink did restore service to south King County and other areas in the south Puget Sound region over the past two hours and hopes to have the rest of the outage fixed soon.
CenturyLink said via Twitter, “We continue to make good progress with our recovery efforts and we are working tirelessly until restoration is complete. We apologize for the disruption.”
